POWER-GEN EUROPE and Renewable Energy World Europe, the leading conference and exhibition for the international power and renewable industries will be taking place at the MiCo Milano, Italy from 21st to 23rd June 2016. These annual events are held in conjunction at the location of choice in Europe. In 2015, NRG Magazine was covering the trade show from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The exhibition, namely, is considered to be the largest of its kind.
The 2016 edition, themed as “Delivering an Integrated Energy Future”, will attract a number of high-profile energy experts from the industry. The keynote speeches will unite representatives of the energy business and the political realm. Namely the opening speeches will be given by Enrico Viale, Head of Global Generation, Enel Group, and Dr. Iulian Iancu, President of the Industry & Services Commission in the Chamber of Deputies in Romania and President of the Romanian National Committee, World Energy Council.
“This year’s keynote speakers will deliver expert insight on the current status of Europe’s power industry and the future of the sector,” says Nigel Blackaby, POWER-GEN Europe Conference Director. “Enel will provide the perspective from inside Italy’s energy industry – the home of POWER-GEN Europe – while Dr. Iancu will provide the viewpoint from an EU member country in Central Europe.”
Nigel Blackaby continues: “To achieve an integrated system, Europe’s energy industry must be flexible. This means flexible in terms of the power we deliver, and also in terms of our willingness to re-structure the sector. These keynote sessions offer the chance for attendees to gain exclusive insight from our continent’s experts, and learn about the new opportunities change offers.”
Furthermore, expert debates within two panel sessions (Joint Plenary Panel Discussion and Utility Leaders’ Roundtable) promise to be the highlight of the event. The Plenary Panel represents companies who are faced with both the challenge and opportunity of the energy transition in Europe. The participants will share their exclusive insights and strategies for successfully adapting to a changing energy sector, around the panel theme: “Energy sector in transition: moving from survival to success”.
POWER-GEN Europe and Renewable Energy World Europe are owned and organized by PennWell Corporation. These events form part of a series staged annually in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and provide exhibitors with an international ‘one-stop-shop’ for penetrating markets and presenting their products and services to a global audience.
In recognition of the event’s importance to the electricity supply industry and energy efficiency, this year’s conference and exhibition has the official Patronage of Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development, under newly appointed Minister Carlo Calenda. POWER-GEN Europe will also play host to the launch of a new report from the World Energy Council, “Variable Renewables Electricity System Integration.”
